Designed specifically for the wildland firefighter making progressive hose lays. After years of development and field testing by firefighters in El Dorado County, California; this light weight but sturdy unit performs exceedingly well in wildland fire fighting operations.
The GVU unit accommodates round roll configuration while the GVC unit holds looped roll (GNASS) configuration. Both units can be used with either (2) 100′ lengths of 1″ or 1 1/2″ hose (the 200 series) or (3) 100′ lengths (the 300 series).
When stored in the engine, the shoulder, waist and sternum straps tuck away neatly to avoid tangling. After use in the field, the unit can be quickly rolled and buckled, creating a neat bundle to ensure its return.
